The last post from Australia! *gasp*

Yeah so anxiety levels are rising. Still a distinct feeling of do not want swapped over occasionally with "yey! going home!" but the latter is distinctly less present than the former...

Stuff is packed, got a 100 dollar package sitting around waiting for me to be able to afford to have it shipped =P
But it'll come around eventually... nothing majorly important in there... my bag's stuffed, my hand bag is stuffed even more... aaaand that is all.
My flight is still leaving on time... aaaand yeah. That's it.

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go.
I'm standing here outside your door...

ULURU. IS . AWESOME .

The trip in general was aweseom. Alice Springs is the best hole in the ground I've ever been to. Camels are awesome. Red rocks Rock! And... Everyone should go on a Rock Tour at some point in their life for it too, is awesome!

So yeah... back after an exhausting but amazing week in Alice Springs.

In a nutshell:

We hopped on the plane monday in Perth at a cool 24 degrees. Arrived in Alice Spring at 16:30 or so in about 30 degree heat. Gt picked up in a rickety old shuttle bus where the idea of air conditioning was opening a window. Got driven down to Toddy's Place, which is a back packers lodge. We got booked into our room which smelled of moth balls and laundry. It was... special. Rented bikes, cruised town, ordered pizza. Sat around, patted the kitty.

Slept badly. Up at 6 am for Rock Tour. SIX AM! ghreoihgroieh! D=
But we were up and ready to roll. Got picked up in another bus. Bob. Rocked on on our road trip that covered 1500km in just 3 days. Australia is awesome that way.
So lots and lots of driving in Bob. Went to King's Canyon. Nearly died there of heat exhaustion and dehydration. But didn't. Save and old lady who was badly dehydrated (pro-tip: if it's 35 degree out, there's no shade, and you're going to be doing stairs and rock climbing for the next 3 or 4 hours, you need more than 500ml of water.) So after playing good samaritan and forking over another half a liter of water to her we returned to Bob for some goo air conditioning and cold drinks. YEY!

To quote Dom (the tour guide): 1000 year old Sharpening Rock used by aboriginals: 'Oh...'. Promise of Gatorade: 'WEEEEE!' "
Why yes... we are shallow teenagers.

Back on the bus more driving. Saw mount Conner. Saw most disguting toilets since Morocco. Gathered fire wood for camp. Rode highway to hell into camp. Made campfire. It was epic. Discussed hte improtance of the Spoon of Respect and Responsibility. Which kept chili from burning. Then ate. Set up camp and slept under stars. Saw fallign stars. Was much awesome.

Slept badly. Up at 5:30am FIVE-THIRTY AM! ghroiehgorieh! D=
Made breakfast, broke up camp. Got on bus. Drove to toilets. Drove more to national park thing. Had really nice hash brown. Went to Olgas. Hiked and climbed a ton. Learned lots about forming of rock and ancient sysmic activity. Walked more. Drank more water that tasted like swimming pool. Walked more. got really hot. Saw awesome views of awesome things. Walked back to Bob. Drove to Uluru. Walked more. Talked about waterfalls that aren't there anymore. Walked back to Bob. Drove to see sunset at Uluru. Had dinner. Rocked out on Bob. Drove back to camp. Made camp fire. HAD SHOWER!! Played camp games. Can pick up 2 inch tall box from ground with teeth without touching the ground with anything but my feet.

Slept fairly alright. Woke up at 4:30 am... FOUR-THIRTY AM! grheoihgoireh! D=
Packed up camp in mere moments. Was held up by other campers not able to be ready in 2 minutes flat. Helped pack Bob. Drove to the park again. Saw Sunrise over Uluru with breakfast. Drove Bob to Uluru. Did 7km hike all before 9am. Back on Bob. Leave national park to head home. Stop at camel farm. Rode camel, trotted camel! Mad fun! Back on Bob. back to Alice Springs.
Check in at hotel after shocking back pakcers by leaving Toddy's in exchange for REAL BEDS and REAL BREAKFAST and SPAS! Had a swim at hotel. went for dinner with group. Was fun. Went back to hotel. Slept like log.

Woke up at 9am HUZZAH!
HAd breakfast. Did museums and historical sights at Alice Springs. Many many nice people. Got tired... took cab back to hotel. Had camel ride at sunset. Much fun to be had. Rode camel named Anna, very pretty... Spa'd it up at hotel. Went for dinner at awesome restaurant. For the first time in a year felt like tipping and did so. Made staff very happy. HAd wander around town. Lots of people yelling and shouting. Went back to hotel. Slept like a log.

Up at 7:30. Packed. Had breakfast. Checked out. Rode awesome taxi of executives ot Airport. Only cost 34 dollars O_o. Got on plane. Turbulent flight home with rough landing. But back in Perth now. Busy uploading all pictures. There's tons!

Home in a week! D= Don't wanna go now, had too much fun this week, wanna travel more! *sad panda*

Back from holidaying it p down south!

Saw dolphins! *crosses off from checklist*
Saw lots of trees
Saw some caves
I live, Bexx lives.
Pemberton doesn't have the internet, the website of the motel lied to us.
We were disappointed and made p for it with room service...
I got a new stuffed toy <3

BUT! Don't you hate it when you just have one of those days where you're just immeasurably cranky for no apparent reason? It's probably just hormones but fuck I hate it, and it makes me so slouchy and bleh and GAAAH! WHIIINE! I drive myself up the wall with those days where all I can do is think of these things I WANT to do and SHOULD do and COULD do but just can't be bothered to becuase I don't wanna end up disappointed or something like that. And everything everyone says or does annoys me, the tv annoys me... EVERYTHING! BUGH! Oh, and people suck...

So much for my relaxing holiday (of which pictres and videos of endless trees, caves and water will follow)... it was relaxing, now we're back in reality.

Which brings me to my next problem: the next time I get a lapse in judgment and suffer from temporary insanity in which I convince myself of the fact that I enjoy studying and that it's fun, someone please douse me with a bucket of cold water and slap me silly because FUCKING HELL I HATE IT !

Now even Bexx' yawning behind me, is making me annoyed and cranky, so this whine-y rant-y thing will come to an end, I'm saying to hell with homework (which I didn't get much of a chance of doing over the past week) and I shall go ... change the sheets on my bed and turn in early so I can do something tomorrow.

Some studying is required, I REALLY need to do my anatomy stuff (BUGH) and work on a business plan and read some medical article or other about pulp. SO! Early night is early in hopes that cranky annoyedness goes away and copious amount of chocolate will motivate me to do something tomorrow...

*grabs stuffed-toy shark (<3) and decidedly goes to bed*

So, we've arrived at our first destination... BUSSELTON!

It's ah... nice. And green. And wet. It's 10 degrees... bah!
And weh ave internet on one computer, but for some reason it's all sorts of fail to get it on two computers and the front desk is closed.

But the place has good hot shower, heating and we did touristy stuff today!

Went to the Ngilgi Cave. Yep, that is not a typo. It was interesting... stalactites and stuff and it too was nice and warm and gave us quite some exercise...

Then arrived at caravan park and then went shopping for food, ended up in a cemetery... Yep. Then we got fast food for dinner, watched a movie and am now flopped under the heater enjoying Bexx' laptop because this is the one with the internet on it... Pictures will follow when we reach the next location, and hopefully we'll BOTH get interwebs there.

Oh and Bexx got a job at Hoyts, so this is now a victory tour rather than a road trip!

I think we're going to the Karry forest tomorrow to hug big trees aaand go horse riding =D

So, we're planning a road trip and we'll be gone for four nights. And well.. four nights without the internet just isn't possible. Everyone knows this! I need to refuel at least once every 24 hours.

Cue discussion:

[info]bexx_t_h : It's only 36 hours we'll be in pemberton!
Me: EXACTLY! 36 hours! Do you hear what you're saying?!
[info]bexx_t_h : We can watch TV and go fishing!
Me: Watch dvds we've already seen and FISHING AT NIGHT!?
[info]bexx_t_h : I don't think Pemberton HAS internet, no one replied to my emails!
Me: Call them then! 36 hours is too long! D8<

And thus Bexx makes a phone call.

[info]bexx_t_h : Hi, I was thinking of booking with you guys and was just wondering if you have the internet?
Dude: Oh yeah, we have that website thing...
[info]bexx_t_h : No, I mean, the internet available at your accomodation.
Dude: Oh ... well... we have it in the office if you... need to check your e-mail you could use that... but
[info]bexx_t_h : Okay...
Dude: Yeah, we don't.... don't have that... eh... that... thigy.. that... goes everywhere.
SomeoneInTheBack: Wireless?
[info]bexx_t_h : Wireless?
Dude: Yeah! That! We don't have it.

We're going to blood hick's ville! D8
BACK IN TIME! *flail* Words cannot describe the dread I am feeling! o____o

The search continues for a place that has both spas and wireless... >.<

It's been that time of the month. And it was early. Which is a sure fire way to put me in a shitty mood for days and days and to pretty much make me put my life on complete hold just so I can sit around and sulk.
Generally this sulking is accompanied by feeling ridiculously sorry for myself for all the things that I am not, that I'm not doing, the things I should be doing but am not, what I should have been, could have been and woudl have been but not and regretting some of the decisions and choce I made AAAAGES ago and cursing my lack of self-esteem and confidence all over the place.

Isn't it LOVELY to be able to give birth to naked monkeys? Such a miracle of life! Yeah, and these are the side effects, hormones oh weee!

Anyway. These moods usually last for a week to ten days... I'm running on 11 days now due to the whole thing being early and just BLEGH!
Before everyone starts freaking the fuck out and sending me concerned e-mails.
Yes, I'm having a good time, I'm having a fucking fabulous time, it's not Australia, being broke, or any of that that caused the minor depression, that's just what's always there and hormones + lackluster existance + it being about two years since I've had a good emotional break down about these things... it's just one of those moments in my life.
I repeat, I'm fine, it has nothing to do with homesickness or being here, I'm glad I'm here because it's a little less hopeless becuase hey, at least I'm in austrlia!

So anyway, I'm done sulking now I've decided as it's doing nothing but increasing my anxiety about failing at life. I'm smart, I'm spending tons of money ... well... other peoples money on this, i can fucking well do this, and I fucking well will too.

SO! In order to get myself motivated, I figured this warranted an LJ post and ... people can throw stuff at me if I don't at least decimate... 80% of this to do list within the next two days. So here goes...

- Clean up the table.
- Print out all lectures
- Change sheets on bed
- Read lectures
- Have a shower
- Study anatomy
- Do some laundry
- Go pony
- Take pictures of pony teeth for assignment
- Take out trash
- Study
- Post some more
- Write that bio
- Study some more
- E-mail some people who I should have emailed ages ago but never got around to
- Make up some more klah mix
- Type up sales ad for Ty
- Study some more
- Get jumping lesson on Ty
- Organize the stuff you've studied and review the things you've done about a million times.
- Defrost the tuna
- Cook and eat the tuna
- Get a cheese pretzel
- Get over yourself
- Get over your lacking self-esteem and fucking ride your little heart out, you don't suck nearly as much as some of the people you've seen lately, so stop fucking doubting yourself about it and have some fucking fun doing it =D
- Find a job that pays for the next month and then some
- Write that bloody business plan already -___-
- Study some more anatomy so you can point it all out
- Sleep pattern. It doesn't have to be normal, it just has to exist.
- Get some vitamins into your system, you require juice
- Buy juice

Okay... that'll do for now.

In other news, because I know I haven't been updating ANYTHIN Glately, blame the hormones for that too...
No job still, savings accounts is empty safe for... oh about 20 bucks?
I had work for a weekend, which got e a decent sum of money and it bought me my ticket to Melbourne so that's taken care off.
We're driving the Apollo rather than the Celica... The Celica had a fight with a kangaroo... we suspect the kangaroo won (I shall eventually do a post dedicated to this epic tale, it's SO australian, it has to be told)
Piggy Flu is in Rockingham is about 13 minutes from Kwinana! Hurrah! Do I get like... major credit points if I contract swine flu while I'm in Australia?
We went road tripping, I have pictures, no you can't see. All in good time young ones.

Why yes, I am killing your friends list and why yes, I am doing it on purpose because I'm just a recalcitrant bitch like that =D

No! I've not been diong much. Don't judge me, I'm on a forced holiday!

But! I id go to Jen's party last night... and it was. Interesting. Haha!
I had a great time, it was really fun meeting everyone and had a great few laughs. Food! WAS SO GOOD! Could be because it was the first real food I'd had in ... over a week? Not counting McDonalds because that's not real food...

Anyway, good food, good drinks, great people who got really quite drink really quite fast but all in good fun. Had the guys trying to teach me how to speak with an Australian accent because apparently I sound american. How terrible is that?! So aside from actual homework, I've gotten homework from Mark to practice my nasal Australian accent.
I revoke what I ever said about dutch being hard because being gutteral isn't nearly as hard as being nasal... I just couldn't figure out how to do it... Even with my nose pinched!

I... was given a token Australian cricket hat. Bright yellow. It's quite nifty! I'm going to hae it signed by Australia's best cricket player, mark my words...

I... had bundy. Which (as I learned) is Australia's first brand of rum, which is why it's so popular. Also the mascot of it is a polar bear. How cool is that? Yes... well not cool enough because it tasted rather poor! But I drank it anyway, because ... that's the Aussie thing to do. Had a great laugh when Mark made me the drink and told me to taste bundy and ... then I got to send him back for more alcohol because my coke and bundy tasted llike plain old coke. I think I scored some respect poins there. Then of course he dumped whatever was left in the bottle in my cup and it was more bundy than coke... Yeah, that bit my in the ass. Me and my macho behavior...

Then the drama... )
And that concludes my nights of fun filled adventures. I WENT OUT ON A SATURDAY NIGHT! (I know, shock and horror!) I was in pictures too.

For everyone wondering;
No, I didn't get drunk.
No, I'm not hung over.
No, I didn't get laid.
No, there are no guys I'm interested in.
No, I didn't get any phonenumbers.
but YES! I was at a birthday party and I had fun.

Yesterday we went to Fremantle, which is basically Den Helder but a bit smaller and with tons nicer weather.
Had looovely fish and chips at the water front for next to nothing. Bexx showed me stuff an pointed me in random directions. Went to the Fremantle Asylum which is now a museum about the town. It was a nice museum, but a little dull. Lovely garden though with a nice terrace so we had some drinsk there it was allll gooood!

But obviously, I forgot the camera. But Bexx took some pictures with her phooone.

Aaand some more picture of when we went to Perth to see the Perth museum of natural history and stuff. Haha, don't recall what it was called exactly, went there last month and never got the chance to upload/share the pictures...

Had a rather epic horsey day otday... lots of riding involved. Got myself a client! Who will pay me even...! hurrah! I shall ride her hros,e help her a bit with riding the horse nad get 40 dollars an hour... not abad catch I say.

Apparently other lady also interestedin letting me ride and/or taking lessons from me but no high word on that yet so we'll see.

Went on an equally epic trail ride which was all sorts of awesome, had a fat out glalop down the practice racing oval, aaaand just overall had a really nice time doing all this horsey stuff...
Rode William again today as well and he was pretty good a bit of a git here and there but I made it a bit harder on him todat so he was probably just snotty over the fact that I kept kicking against his boundries at random.

And Bexx rode him, she was really good.. .she went from clinging to the saddle with no balance at all two days ago with flailing legs and everything to trotting around (on William, the most uncomfortable horse EVAR) without holding on to anything and trotting circles and everything. She just ranodmly skipped about 10 steps inbetween here and there. She's actually pretty balanced on a horse now, and she can touch her toes! Without dying!

Anyway... just as I got out of the car at the horses I realized I didn't put any sunblock on and it was a nice warm day (27 degrees or so) under the hot aussie sun with little ot no shade... so I got a sunburn... but it's not too bad, just the tips of my shoulders a bit. I do have the most awesome farmers tan ever now. Oh well considering some of the Aussie born and bred people I talked to today had bene bathing in sunscreen and were STILL burned I think I fared pretty damn well. =D

HAve some pictures, but I can't be arsed putting them up now... they're in the public facebook album... Here(clicky)

Went to my first jewelry party. Basically a tupperware part except with jewelry. Obnoxious sales woman and completely ridiculous lies in the catalogue.

Phrases only used to convince random unknowledgables of how amazing the product is. Except to the more... literate individual, it's rather hilarious.

"The chinese I Ching "The beginning of everything." "

Erm... NO! The I Ching, is the BOOK OF CHANGES! It has NOTHING to do with magnetism or magnetic metals, it's a book of symbols!

Even the birthstones were off; december is not turqoise! It's Onyx, Ruby or I think Zircon, not turqoise...

"We trade in your gold, but not your silver. I'm not sure why but I think it has to do with the chemicals, that silver has too much chemicals in it to be reused, I think that's as close as I'll get in explaining it in lame terms."

I was SO hoping I had misheard her say that, but Bexx heard it too. lame. Yep, very lame. but I do believe hse meant LAYMEN terms. But no, by all means remark on how hard my accent is... x_X

Regardless, I managed to sit through the bullshit even did the good deed to buy something ("It will be custom made especially for you! Is it okay if you have it before hte weeks out?" Fastest delivery ever? Or od I sense some utter bullshit there?)

SO yes... it was an interesting evening... At least there was food and the people attending were nice... except the weird saleslady...

"I want you to just play around with all the rings."

"It comes off much easier if it's stiff."

It was a challenging night, the boys were not helping...

Killed my first australian bug! Huzzah! No idea what it was, anyway, it's dead now.

Did some laundry because the wet towel smell was getting in the way of my NaNo muses, so soon the flooding of the washing machine will be nothing but a distant memory once I go and attack the bathroom floor with a bleach like substance. *channels Daniel* Werewolves need not complain of the smell of bleach because I will beat them with it.
Still need to do a few more loads of laundry before that though...

I'm considering keeping up this whole house-wifey feel for a moment and cook us some dinner but I've discovered i'm missing a few vital ingredients for most meals. I'm obviously still getting used to not having a store at walking distance, need to make grocerie lists now and not do it from the top of my brain. Or become more adequate at knowing what I might need in the near future...

As for NaNo, I'm slooowly creeping back up on the word count. Almost ALMOST at 8K now... need 10K by the end of the day. I can bloody well do this! *puts on srs bizniz face*

Unless I do decide ot make idnner in which case I shall have to postpone my hardcore writing until later this evening after my darling husband roommate comes home from work.

We went to see the ponies... I had hopes of riding Trev and Emma but Trevor is too fat to wear tack and since I felt bad for Bexx standing around watching I figured I'd give her a lesson on William, but then it started to rain and just sorta never stopped anymore.

So mght get some riding done later on in the week since Bexx has a full week of work ahead of her... Hopefully we'll get some pictures taken then...

Sooo... I'm really here! It's a bit surreal still because it all seems entirely too normal.

The flight was uneventful... had a wee bit of turbulance over europe but that was all... and the guy sitting next to me climbed oer my chair (stepping on the armrests and everything) everytime i tried to sleep. Becuase I'd refused to sleep at what was 2pm inthe afternoon for me as the plane said i should...

I tried to NaNo... did some NaNo... but since the muses crappd out when i opened my laptop I wasted most of the batteries on playing pokemon... aaaand i got about 1300 words on the laptop which won't live ofr me just yet... and a whole page of long hand but lack of elbow room kinda buggered me over on both accounts.

Aaand thne i arrived at Kualal Lumpur hihc was ridiculously easy to navigate... thanks to the lovely plus shaped construction of it...so I wandered around wanted to buy these awesome looking ramen at an actual ramen shop but they didn't speak english very well at all so I didn't know if they would accept either of my types of mickey mouse moneys... plus i had no idea what the hell they were all chucking in there and the concept of vegetarianism seemed ot puzzle them most of all... so I thanked them ofr the info and continued on... lacking ramen noodles sadly... I shall try again on my return flight.

Then got back on the plane which all went a lot quicker than at Amsterdam because much less phobia I'd bring a bomb to Perth than to Kuala Lumpur apparently... wherei  had ot unpack everything at schiphol I could leave everything in the bag at KL and no one cared... boarded wit ha whole lot of poms all coming from england and a bunch of asians so I was about the only dutch person left... aaand flew ot Perth whih was more uneventful.. ended upwatcing the kiddy movies of the inflight entertainment set because I'd seen all the others just baout. Can recommend Jack and Jill for those curious, it was actually kinda good but it's a girly sorta movie but not overly so... just niiice movie..

Got to Perth I figured I'd be quick try ot beat them all got stuck in the aisle at ifrst then when i was out made up ofr the loss by speedhicking past the tiny tiny asian people and the short chubby poms. Got fairly quickly ot thep assport check breezed through that headed ot the carrousels of baggage claim and spend 40 minutes waiting for the conveyer belt to evne start moving and spewing bags. There went my headstart. There was another flight arriving at the same time so the queue to customs was getting fucking EPIC. It took me another 30 minutes or so for my bag ot finally get to me.

Then into the queue for customs, i brought strawberry sugar water for Bexx which needed hcecking when they saw i was a horse trainer they wanted to see my horse equipment... i'd oly brought my spurs but since thye were used they needed treatment whihc would cost 30 dollars hiwle i can buy new ones for the same price os I told them to just chuck them... too bad, 'tis a shame because they were nice but oh well.. shit happens.

Found bexx fairly quickly because Perth is a tiny airport... her brother gave us a ride home, I dragged my stuff into my room got the tour "And this is your room it smells of wet carpet."  and that WAS the tour of the place... =P

Then i walked around a bit to stretch my legs while not killing my knees and Bexx did some laundry and then we headed off to the ponies! And I met Trev and WIll and Emma and the shitty litle pony who hasn't got a name i think and Baby the shetland
and i ended up riding Will.. how was... amusing, sooo amusing haha. And everyone came to see him trot because OMG! he was trotting!

Had a talk about him and the other horse,s helped Bexx walk him around a bit but he'd already worked pretty hard and scared Bexx by trying to toss me... Ended up staying there until almost 9pm.. at hiwhc point we realized we didn't have much food so bought out the gasstation with junkfood... and while Iwas supposed ot og to bed early to seriously beat jetlag we ended up chatting nad talking until like 4am... then wnet ot bed where I fought wit hsheets and pillows (or lackthereof) and awoke at 10:30... but my body was in denial and went "nuuu!" and slept on until 11:40 or so... and now I'm here!

It took me 20 minutes ot make my sandwich(which is defrosting painfully slowly) and 2 minutes ot break into Bexx' laptop... xD

Oh and it RAINED! Yesterday and again today! I picked hte coldest bloody day to arrive at it was only 24 degrees and today it looks grey and dreary...! D8
