So there's this job...

"Remba Park - Vacant position!

Remba Park Performance horses offers a opportunity to the right person. 5 days a week, mornings, from Sun to Fri, on a rotating roster. Includes full board for one horse, weekly lesson, instructor training session and a wage. Chores involve feeding, mucking out and general stable duties. Capable riders, to work performance horses, and to come away weekends to events. Would suit a ambitious riders. But prepared to train up eager, reliable person."

I do think the job is pretty damn perfect for me (if I do say so myself)...! Now it so happens that I've been eye-balling Remba Park for a while now to maybe get lessons at. It's about 10 minutes from where we're boarding our ponies so it's very tempting. But! As irony has it... I have a car I could drive, just no license. *grumble*

Meaning I'd have to give Bexx the puppy eyes to drop me off and pick me up every damn day. Or bike it down there (will take me between 40 minutes and an hour or so, guesstimating). Or take public transit.

Problems that occurs; if I can get Bexx crazy enough to drive me up and down, my wokr hours and her work hours might clash. The description implies mostly mornings meaning I'd have afternoons off.. right? So then I work morning, finish at say noon... and then have to wait until some day 7:30pm for Bexx to have time ot pick me up. Har har.

Other option is biking, buuut there's no biking lanes, drivers here HATE cyclists, so it's pretty risky. Do-able, but risky. I'd also need a bike and a *dreeeaaad* biking helmet. >_<

Public transit... oy. What is a 20 minute drive and an hour or so (give or take 10 minutes) by bike would take me, at best, 90 minutes to do by public transit. Now, I don't quite believe the PT site that claims it takes about 20 minutes to walk place, but even taking that into account, on a bad day it'd still take me an hour and a half to get there, with al lthe risks of missing a bus or train included.

In short... so much fail! I wish I got my license goddamit! DX<
I'm still going to apply I think, at least, in a round-a-bout sort of fashion, though I'm not sure on the way to go. I' mnot going ot be a permanent employee, obviously, and i'll need 7 weeks off at the end of july to go to Melbourne... right... that really fattens up my chance for a job, right? x___X

So I shall email them with my details and my CV (which I have to translate tonight or tomorrow or something) and hopefully they will want me... for SOMETHING.
Wisheth me luck plox.

On another note; email still mostly dead... x_x

More often than not at the bottom of the stairs leading up to our apartment there's a children's bycicle.
Not just any children's bicycle, it's the ultimate kiddy bike. The bike that makes all the other kiddies in the complex jealous! It's a spiderman bicycle with side wheels and everything. In colour, with the most awsome spidey seat on it.

We've stepped over and around this little bicycle for a few days now and i can only imagine the little kid who has the pleasure of owning it derives great enjoyment from it as it's always neatly parked at the bottom of the stairs. Almost like a teenager does with his or her first car.

My dutch roots are well and turlly showing and perhaps it's a sign of some of the things I miss from The Netherlands, but everytime I pass it I feel the biggest, baddest urge to take the little bike and chuck it over the fence into the pool.

The fact that our apartment is directly infront of the pool doesn't help, as I'd have the gleeful joy to be on the front row seats to the drama that would unfold as the little (tom)boy finds the spidey bike at the bottom of the pool...
