Good; I already know 4 out of the 8 lectures I have to do.
Bad; I didn't realize the last lecture was 12 pages long =/

Your random medica lword of the day iiiis *drum roll * Pterygoid muscle!
The pterygoid muscle functions as the antagonist to the masseter muscle in the mandicle and the articular disk of the temoromandibular joint!

I feel so smart because I now actually know what all those words mean and what the pterygoid muscle does! ... essentially it means it allows for the lower jaw to do the side-ways fexion when chewing. Doesn't sound NEARLY as impressive as the 'proper' explanation of it. But oh well...

As Eventus put it;
SR: *flexes brain powers*
Eventus: My face just went O_o
SR: haha and by doing that oyu flexed all the muscles and joints I just mentioned!

aaaand...
"Adipose tissue on the other hand has little extracellular structural material but has proportionally larger intracellular material. It has a thermoregulatory function and a protective function but its most important role is in energy metabolism"
...
or as I put it in my notes: "Fat keeps people warm and protects people and can be burned by lack of energy"

Now back to the study mobile! 17 more pages to go before the end of the day! and 7 more hours until midnight!
(and all the on just one can of energy drink!!!! *bounce*)

I <3 Biology.
And I do not know why. I just do. I can't explain it. I think I'm a biology-phile? Maybe a ...biosexual...?

Either way, I never quite realized how much I loved biology until I just now went back to making notes from lecture sheets about the horse' respiratory system. And while at the top of the page it specifically says "Don't pay too much attention to the internal respiration, just get an idea." ....
But I KNOW the structure of the respiratory system front to back in two languages with my eyes closed while whacking a pinata, I know the science behind diffusion between aveoli and the blood, and understand how the permeation with the carpillaries works, I even already know the science of how oxygen molecules glueing themselves to haemoglobine in the bloodstream.... all of which was only lightly touched on in this lecture, making me feel just slightly bored with it because I know all this crap already...!

And then internal respiration comes across, with big bold font on the scanned in pages... and suddenly, there's all these new terms and indepth explanations on how the energy is released and how the body makes up for the loss of andosine triphosphates and what exactly the efficient purpose of the mitochondria is in all this (which I had learned before but never quite put in the grand scheme of things) and I just got sucked into all of it, despite the fact that it was 5:14am and I had said I would not go into the material but would go to bed instead, but I couldn't resist the temptation and started taking a few notes, to help me 'form an idea' and before I knew it I was scribbling away furiously at my notes faster and faster, barely even taking a glance at the lecture sheet anymore just writing away at my own awesome conclusion and as I hit the last full stop, solidly and definitively on the page I knew that with only a little help and guidances from the book I had drawn all these conclusions myself and that it was correct and that I had LEARNED something and that I LOVED it.

.... and I felt superior because of it... It was beautiful. *wipes away a tear*

It was even more beautiful when I then tried to come up with a small concise definition of both external and internal respiration and what my brain came up with was backed up by the big awesome Merriam-Webster's Medical Desk Dictionary of win and awesome(tm). Almost to the letter exact...!

*deep content sigh* One of those weird days where homework is very... VERY gratifying. I would say better than sex, but I have very little comparative material.

Maybe I should just go on to study biology after all this... >_>

Now... I'm sortof just writing of my nerves which struck about twenty minutes ago... as today is the call back of exams (zee big exams) and I'll hear if I passed them or not... and erm.. yeah... I really just don't know how my biology went x_____X
The fact I was stoned on painkillers, had a face full of snot and was running a fever while making it doesn't help me remember what the questions were either.. all I remember was collapsing into bed afterward.... and I distinctly remember forgetting my calculator... which also doesn't help my confidence that I actually did well considering I need 5 minutes to calculate my own age.

So... at 16:30 ... I can expect a call... if I DON'T get a call I passed... so... fingers crossed... *twitchytwitchtwitch*

Yeah two posts in few minutes but I felt the other story deserved it's own post whihc for some reason I didn't post yesterda, which I thought I did....

"Ben wants to know how many bunnies populate the local dunes. He therefore captures 45 bunnies and tags them. Several days later he catches 37 bunnies, 6 of which are tagged. He makes an estimate based on this information.

Calculate an estimate from the given information (write down the calculation!!)"

Two Three points I wanna make.

A. OMGWTF?! Why is there MATH in my BIOLOGY test?!
B. I was always under the impression one MADE an estimate and then calculated to see if the estimate was correct. Not calculate an estimate and assume one is correct. Guess I've done it wrong all my life.

And C. I don't think my answer (see point B) is gonna get me any credit on this one...

Sitting in biology we were revising last year (which basically means I was revising what I revised last year of my revision of two years ago) and I was well and trully zoned out over my book letting teacher talk and talk and talk some more when suddenly my brain got stuck in the chapter of genetics and more specifically on the chapter of x-chromosomal factors.

Then suddenly I was a flurry of activity (which must've scared the teacher and my classmates) I started scribling al lthese speculations about Tridane genetics I already had added with x-chromosomal factor for ebony which might possibly in some way explain why Fabian is a light wing among all the dark wings but then the brain got horrible confused and lost in all the gnetics. Of do you write an x-chromosomal factor ina genetic string? Is the wing factor an additional gene with a subfactor to it like the champagne dilutes in hroses? If so it's a ridiculously long subfactor so maybe it's a paired gene to do with the wings but then again it also make for horribly long code.
So lots of corssing out and redoodling began and editing and changing until I was well and trully lost and no my brain can't come up with more than "...pfwwwwwweee!"
