So... We're down to... half a horse?

We had two for lease until crazy owner of Andy wanted her horse back because he was supposedly in poor condition. Erm. No. He's not, you stupid bearded cow face. He's just no longer obese and looking like a sausage roll!
So had the vet out today to verify he's NOT in poor condition and that by taking him back she's breaking the lease contract and that she can then thus pay for the vet bills we got for him (got his teeth done because they hadn't been done in YEARS according to the vet). As I don't generally make a habit out of getting horses from people, spending money on getting them polished up and working readily and training excess fat and flab off of them and building up muscle and what else not, only to have them come around after a month and a bit to get him back.
I'm not a fucking horse rescue, I want something in return (e.g. a horse to ride for several months) or you can reimburse me for the money I blew on YOUR horse.

So since we had the vet out (who said Andy was in fine condition and no worries what so ever and said he was looking fit and not emaciated as his owner made him out to be.) decided to have her check Mel out as she'd been a bit weird with certain things riding wise, she seemed very foot sore on and off and just has no strength in her hindquarters and does everything within her power not to engage her hindquarters and is just not building up muscle because of it.
After some poking and prodding from the vet an some trotting up and down the drive way (painstakingly so) vet said she probably has some arthritic problems. She could do a full lameness examination but alreay said depends on how much you're willing to spend on her.
Again, I'm not a rescue service, I love Mel but she's not my horse! So I told the vet that much and then she suggested starting her on bute with a few days off and then keeping up with that to see how she goes... I just feel sorry for her because she's such a sweet thing and I do love her it's just... ugh. She doesn't deserve this...

So we have one healthy horse who the owner wants back because he's unhealthy according to her and one unhealthy horse which we're probably going to give back to the owner because I just can't afford/don't want to afford that much money on a horse that's not even mine...

Blegh... day of suck. This is why I don't get up early because days tend to suck and then there's sooooo much time left to feel sucky about it.

Update time for everyone who cares!

Lots of good stuff, lots of bad  stuff.

Good stuff;
- Officially in equine dentistry now! Hurrah!
- Had a long morning gallop with one of the horses through the pine forest and GALLOPED WITH THE ROOS! Hello thar aussie exp.!
- My half chaps came in the mail today! Yey! I can look snazzy while riding now. They're soooo nice!
- Won winery voucher at a trivia quiz night in the raffle, so lunch is paid for one day!
- Expecting a new saddle!
- Horses are being all sorts of good.
- Having a ton of fun and then some.

Bad stuff;
- Shittiest job in the world which I will be quitting friday.
- No other job at the moment >.<
- Eating away at the savigns acount more than I'd like
- Pony hit her face really hard so she's out of the running for a while =/

I'm now just going to whore myself out as a trainer/instructor I think for whoever will have me. Since neither of us have a job yet an currenlty I'm paying almost all rent, board for two horses and groceries and it's just too much to keep up for long.
We'll work it out, no doubt but just at the moment we're having a bit of a rough spot XD

Eitherway, all is well~! The good feeling of the good still outweighs the bad feelings of the bad!

OMG!
Stuff happened!

So I saw about a dozen horses again. And we found two we'll be free leasing! Hurrah! I has a new pony now...!

Secondly I actually applied for the AEDP course to be a pony dentist! Hurrah again! I feel so proud and I'm slightly terrified that the equipment list actually includes scalpels. >______>; Within a few weeks I should know if I got in or not.

Tuesday night is apparently 'domestice problem' night to the downstairs neighbors. (Crazy Lady who by the way came up to our direct neighbors dragging her aughter along to explain that her little girl "lies a lot."  and that she will often say she's getting beaten when really nothing is happening). They don't seem to realize we live here.

I've been 21 for a month and I feel OLD!

I ifugred it deserved a post before I go off and play with it...!

And I has pictures of it...!

Picture dump! Loot + other stuff I should've posted ages ago )

And yes, EVENTUALLY I'll gather up enough energy to sift through the pictures of the museum we visited and actually get into my inbox and answer all my mail. I AM getting the emails, I just haven't had the chance, the time or the energy to get back to you all yet. They are however much appreciated and I will get to them... eventually.

"On the collective word-count front...Together, we wrote 1,519,501,005 words. That's a 28% increase over last year, when we reached 1,187,931,929 words.

I'll be posting another blog entry this week to help all of us better grasp what 1,519,501,005 words means to humanity, and whether that many words would actually weigh more than a grocery store filled with donkeys (early results point to yes).

The top 10 wordiest regions this year were…
1) Seattle
2) Maryland
3) Germany and Austria
4) Los Angeles
5) Holland and Belgium
6) Chicago
7) Twin Cities (MN)
8) New York City
9) Portland, OR
10) London"

So that makes e feel sort of awesome because I contributed a lousy 55,000 words to that. Buuuut I don't feel as accomplished as I'd hoped. I said I'd finish the story by the end of november and i haven't. I could've done it easily, I had days to spare but after hitting 50K I just got lazy and wrote measle 5K in 6 days time. So while it was epic and rather gratifying, I'm still left a bit unaccomplished.

I'll finish the story over december, I'm pretty sure I can do it, but just a bit annoyed that I didn't make the goal I set for myself.

Oh well, 20K or so more to go.

In non-NaNo related news;

Bought a saddle for Trev (cost 75 dollars, fully mounted, haha) and been working with him and Will they're doing quite good. Also got another little horse to ride called Amber (formerly known as Emma) the little chestnut mare that got dumped on the property. She was originally given to this lady called Mary to ride and have fun wiht but Amber is a bit gree nand a bit naugty, so I'm riding her for now, a few times a week, to train her up a bit and then we're probaby going to sell her and I'll get half the monnies! Which will be good =D

I think we can get 3 K for her, 2,5K at LEAST, so that would mean a clean 1750 dollars in profit clean on the hook since I have no costs on this horse whatsoever. I get driven there and back, Mary pays for feed, worming, farrier and everything an we still split it fifty-fifty. Goood monnies.

I can has donations plz?

And for those of you not on facebook....
www.facebook.com/home.php
I'm not sure if that's viewable but it should be since I set the permission mask for everyone... >.>

Anywho; went to see Australia (the movie) at a fundraiser thing for the RSPCA (I'm ever os charitable) with horrible terrible sushi snacks and equally terrible wine (whihc burned in ways wine should never burn). The movie was long... and... got rather boring and "is it done yet?" toward the end of it and didnt have NEARLY enough scenes wit ha half naked Hugh Jackman showering from a jerrican. But it was nice if we ignore the utterly shitty CGI.
But yeah after three hours of watching Hugh Jackman chase after cows muttering 'Crickey' Bexx and I got into the spirit of things and actually took our horses out into the paddock with the cow today and we did some 'droving' of our own!

Like true drovers. We had studied the film hard and we chased that cow around! And the pony, but the pony is evil and kicks at the others XD
It was all sorts of fun but the cow ended up outsmarting us so we just had some fun, trotting and cantering around.

Much to my amusement Bexx managed ot sit out WIlliam bucking around trying ot kill Trevor, but managed to FALL OFF /9or creatively dismount) while she was slowly trotting a straight line. She has a ... talent of a sort.

But I caught some of our mucking about on camera, which is the second link posted (if it works) and we basically did that while chucking and laughing for about an hour and then some. It was great fun, best fun I've had in a while..!

Had a rather epic horsey day otday... lots of riding involved. Got myself a client! Who will pay me even...! hurrah! I shall ride her hros,e help her a bit with riding the horse nad get 40 dollars an hour... not abad catch I say.

Apparently other lady also interestedin letting me ride and/or taking lessons from me but no high word on that yet so we'll see.

Went on an equally epic trail ride which was all sorts of awesome, had a fat out glalop down the practice racing oval, aaaand just overall had a really nice time doing all this horsey stuff...
Rode William again today as well and he was pretty good a bit of a git here and there but I made it a bit harder on him todat so he was probably just snotty over the fact that I kept kicking against his boundries at random.

And Bexx rode him, she was really good.. .she went from clinging to the saddle with no balance at all two days ago with flailing legs and everything to trotting around (on William, the most uncomfortable horse EVAR) without holding on to anything and trotting circles and everything. She just ranodmly skipped about 10 steps inbetween here and there. She's actually pretty balanced on a horse now, and she can touch her toes! Without dying!

Anyway... just as I got out of the car at the horses I realized I didn't put any sunblock on and it was a nice warm day (27 degrees or so) under the hot aussie sun with little ot no shade... so I got a sunburn... but it's not too bad, just the tips of my shoulders a bit. I do have the most awesome farmers tan ever now. Oh well considering some of the Aussie born and bred people I talked to today had bene bathing in sunscreen and were STILL burned I think I fared pretty damn well. =D

HAve some pictures, but I can't be arsed putting them up now... they're in the public facebook album... Here(clicky)

I got soaked... today. In a country/state that has had drought issues since the beginning of time.

We went to see the ponies... I had hopes of riding Trev and Emma but Trevor is too fat to wear tack and since I felt bad for Bexx standing around watching I figured I'd give her a lesson on William, but then it started to rain and just sorta never stopped anymore.

So mght get some riding done later on in the week since Bexx has a full week of work ahead of her... Hopefully we'll get some pictures taken then...

Aaaand am already behind LOTS on my NaNo was supposed to write tonight but meh... will spend most of tomorrow writing probably. Might need to find myself some junkfood first though somewhere in this odd little town. Which reminds me I need to do some financing and moving around of moneys... and I still owe money t oa friend...

Note to self; do finances...

Sooo... I'm really here! It's a bit surreal still because it all seems entirely too normal.

The flight was uneventful... had a wee bit of turbulance over europe but that was all... and the guy sitting next to me climbed oer my chair (stepping on the armrests and everything) everytime i tried to sleep. Becuase I'd refused to sleep at what was 2pm inthe afternoon for me as the plane said i should...

I tried to NaNo... did some NaNo... but since the muses crappd out when i opened my laptop I wasted most of the batteries on playing pokemon... aaaand i got about 1300 words on the laptop which won't live ofr me just yet... and a whole page of long hand but lack of elbow room kinda buggered me over on both accounts.

Aaand thne i arrived at Kualal Lumpur hihc was ridiculously easy to navigate... thanks to the lovely plus shaped construction of it...so I wandered around wanted to buy these awesome looking ramen at an actual ramen shop but they didn't speak english very well at all so I didn't know if they would accept either of my types of mickey mouse moneys... plus i had no idea what the hell they were all chucking in there and the concept of vegetarianism seemed ot puzzle them most of all... so I thanked them ofr the info and continued on... lacking ramen noodles sadly... I shall try again on my return flight.

Then got back on the plane which all went a lot quicker than at Amsterdam because much less phobia I'd bring a bomb to Perth than to Kuala Lumpur apparently... wherei  had ot unpack everything at schiphol I could leave everything in the bag at KL and no one cared... boarded wit ha whole lot of poms all coming from england and a bunch of asians so I was about the only dutch person left... aaand flew ot Perth whih was more uneventful.. ended upwatcing the kiddy movies of the inflight entertainment set because I'd seen all the others just baout. Can recommend Jack and Jill for those curious, it was actually kinda good but it's a girly sorta movie but not overly so... just niiice movie..

Got to Perth I figured I'd be quick try ot beat them all got stuck in the aisle at ifrst then when i was out made up ofr the loss by speedhicking past the tiny tiny asian people and the short chubby poms. Got fairly quickly ot thep assport check breezed through that headed ot the carrousels of baggage claim and spend 40 minutes waiting for the conveyer belt to evne start moving and spewing bags. There went my headstart. There was another flight arriving at the same time so the queue to customs was getting fucking EPIC. It took me another 30 minutes or so for my bag ot finally get to me.

Then into the queue for customs, i brought strawberry sugar water for Bexx which needed hcecking when they saw i was a horse trainer they wanted to see my horse equipment... i'd oly brought my spurs but since thye were used they needed treatment whihc would cost 30 dollars hiwle i can buy new ones for the same price os I told them to just chuck them... too bad, 'tis a shame because they were nice but oh well.. shit happens.

Found bexx fairly quickly because Perth is a tiny airport... her brother gave us a ride home, I dragged my stuff into my room got the tour "And this is your room it smells of wet carpet."  and that WAS the tour of the place... =P

Then i walked around a bit to stretch my legs while not killing my knees and Bexx did some laundry and then we headed off to the ponies! And I met Trev and WIll and Emma and the shitty litle pony who hasn't got a name i think and Baby the shetland
and i ended up riding Will.. how was... amusing, sooo amusing haha. And everyone came to see him trot because OMG! he was trotting!

Had a talk about him and the other horse,s helped Bexx walk him around a bit but he'd already worked pretty hard and scared Bexx by trying to toss me... Ended up staying there until almost 9pm.. at hiwhc point we realized we didn't have much food so bought out the gasstation with junkfood... and while Iwas supposed ot og to bed early to seriously beat jetlag we ended up chatting nad talking until like 4am... then wnet ot bed where I fought wit hsheets and pillows (or lackthereof) and awoke at 10:30... but my body was in denial and went "nuuu!" and slept on until 11:40 or so... and now I'm here!

It took me 20 minutes ot make my sandwich(which is defrosting painfully slowly) and 2 minutes ot break into Bexx' laptop... xD

Oh and it RAINED! Yesterday and again today! I picked hte coldest bloody day to arrive at it was only 24 degrees and today it looks grey and dreary...! D8
I brought rain wiht me!

No cut, I'm lazy, deal with it. And i do think I beat jetlag... buahahaha!

Isn't it amazing how I wiki to find the history of horsemanship... and end up reading about bederastic relationships in greece and the traditions and values of relationships between men and adolescent boys.... ?

How does this keep happening?

Also; is it a coincidence that the first man who preached to be patient and gentle with horses and is percieved as the first important horse master was a flaming homosexual?

Dear horse,

Please stop making me fall in love with you.
It's not a good thing. You're going to be sold soon-ish and I can't afford to buy you right now. So seriously, cut it out. Please?

So that means no more letting me sleep against you while you nap. No more chasing off the young colts to have all my attention to yourself. No more coming up to the fence just for a hug when you see me. No more resting your nose in my arms whenever I'm within reach and definitely, definitely no more fun hacks and outrunning everyone else to be at the front. No more cutesy stuff like asking for hugs on hacks. No more patiently standing around at lbierty in the barn while I untakc you, put cream on your legs and gets your food.

Please be the neurotic stupid little idiot you were two years ago, who wouldn't be caught in the pasture and who refused to believe me when I said it wasn't going to eat you and still spun around and ran off (or tried to).

With love,
She who fixed you.

p.s. stop growing because now you're almsot hte perfect size for me too. And while you're at it? Go back to being a silly noodle instead of a gorgeous solid stocky chestnut with a big butt, lots of shoulder muscles and a stallion's neck. kthnxbye.

Myeah so I'm in pain. Banged up a knee. For a change.

Was out on a hack with the pony when two other ponies came charging at full gallop to us... This startled my pony who took off like a bat out of hell because zomgthey'lleatyouD8!
Was still seated quite firmly then and it was all seemingly not so bad until he had to make a sharp turn. He misstepped or tripped orj ust donwright lost his balance... either way he fell over and I had to fall over as well of course and got my knee stuck under the pony...!

Not fun, can't recommend it. I'm fine, pony is fine too.. .I'm more crippled than he is...! So I have my knee covered in melty ice cubes in a baggy... it feels nice now...!

But to make it all that much more fun my dad didn't hear his phone so I had ot cycle all the way home from the barn on a banged up knee. At least I get sulk-points for that and because of a guitl ridden father I now more or less have a butler 8D

Is... from the same planet as superman... o_____o

I was lunging my horse.. or rather, getting ready to. letting him throw some bucks nad race around a bit so he'd get that out of his system... and Globe was cold and didn't know where to stand so I said ot her she could stand with me in the cente.r We could talk and walk and it wouldn't be so cold...

So she comes in, and Amy, my doggy, follows her... no big thing, usually I don't allow her in the lunging arena until I'm done but she was sitting quietly next to us so yeah... I didn't send her out like I normally do.

Then a few moments later my horse is cantering, my dog suddenly racesforwar,d barking at him as if playing. They play together sometimes but never quite like that... and she just.. ran... under him! While he was cantering!

And he couldn't evade her if he wanted to so he stepped on her... FULLY STEPPED ON HER! And she was yelping and snarling. And my brain was going "oh crap vet bill of doom... x_X" and then.. she.. just... walked back up to us.. without even limping...!

And my horse jsut kept going... and ... dog is fine. Still. Not even a limp, nothing... she's... fine... *still a bit in awe*

My dog is bleeding indestructable..! My hrose isn't particularly small or light, he's a good 1100 lbs at LEAST. At a canter! So all his weight on that one leg...! O_o

I have a friggin' yoga pony and indestructable dog...!

Oh yes! The pony almsot killed a small child yesterday!

If daddy had been a split second later he'd have sat down on her.
It was erm... an interesting chain of events...

i'm standing around midning my own business, pony on a string. Pony is munching what little grass grows next to the outdoor arena. We're waiting for the round pen to clear out. Apaprently from behind a child approaches but I don't notice, nor does the pony. Daddy apparently sets in the chase yelling somethign along the lines of "No don't go near the horsey...! D8"

I turn to look and before I can do anything there's this ... .INFANT standing about a metre away from the pony... daddy goes in for a low swoop, which possibly scared the pony more than the child would've. Pony startles and tries to jump away but since I'm blocking his path he instead does an AWESOME rollback, nearly into the child.

But daddy saved her with an impressive show of courage/stupidty and snatched her just in time... pony had a heart attack, so did I and daddy, and all the child could muster up was "PET PET PET PET PET!"

Children... *twitch*

So.... chapter closed. Nanza is back at the ranch, getting her vet check today. If she passes she's sold. I'm a bit sad, because Nanza was a great mare and I dislike seeing her go. We all do, even the ranch owners were a bit miffed. But we have both ehr parents still and a sister, so there's plenty of Nanza's blood to go around still.
On top of that she's going to some awesome people, who will give ehr a lot of attention. They want to make quiet trail rides and maybe occasionally compete a little in reining and western pleasure. She's going to be the family pony!

People came to check her out last thursday and almsot immediatly fell for her. Despite having looked all over the coutnry at several horses, they really liked Nanza.
They rode here, and all was well, I got a bunch of compliments for how well she was behaved and how lightly she responded to the aids, which was all good. The next morning they called Henk with an offer and bought horse and saddle in one go.

Saturday they came to pick her up and brought back little Noble. Who isn't so little anymore, only between his ears.
Some pictures of the pony that haven't been posted before... ^_^

More pictures behind the cut... )
Subsequently, Noble decided he should make a grant entrance. He'd bene good the whole trip and decided to leap over the front bar of the trailer upon arrival and thus when we opened the trailer up found him laying in the very front of the trailer on his back. That's some yoga skillz right there. Luckily we got him out quickly and he was amazingly unharmed. Not even a scratch on him. He wasn't even sore the next mroning... silly bugger...
